Welcome to sturgisbikegiveaway.com!

14 years of sharing the Gospel with Sturgis Participants since 2006

The Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is the largest single bike rally event in the world. Each year, for the first full week in August, bikers from all over the world, come to Sturgis, SD, to ride, race and party. Anywhere from 400,000 to 600,000 bikers converge on this small South Dakota town nestled on the north side of the Black Hills. Started in 1938 by the ‘Jackpine Gypsies’ motorcycle club, the rally was the brain-child of Clarence ‘Pappy’ Hoel. Over the past 79 years the rally has grown in the number of bikers, events, sponsors and vendors.

In 2006 the Dakota Baptist Convention, in cooperation with the Ronny Hill Evangelistic Association and the North American Mission Board began the Sturgisbikegiveaway.com Evangelism Ministry. This ministry consisted of purchasing a brand new Harley Davidson Motorcycle to give away at the end of the rally. Volunteers enlisted from the Dakotas and across the nation and were given training in giving an evangelistic testimony in three minutes. Bikers were invited into the tent, given the opportunity to register to win the motorcycle, in exchange for them listening to a three minute story about how Jesus changed the volunteers life.

As we enter another year of ministry at the rally, over 33,000 presentations of the gospel have been shared and over 6,900 people have prayed to receive Christ as their Savior. Over 1,500 volunteers have been trained to share their testimony evangelistically. Sturgisbikegiveaway.com has become a model for big event evangelism across the country. Other bike rallies and churches have used the three minute testimony model and have seen great results. We are grateful for partnerships which have provided finances and volunteers for this ministry each year. We invite you to come and bring others to be a part of this great opportunity to lead others to Jesus Christ.
